Gothic Floral

When it comes to exploring all of the different corners of Los Angeles, I’ve found that DTLA holds the most hidden treasures to explore, with the flower market being one of my favorites. Admittedly, every time I’m there, I go a bit overboard with the amount of flowers I buy for myself, and my home turns into it’s own greenhouse. In trying to figure out how to subdue this feminine overload, I came up with our newest filter, Gothic Floral.

Maintaining the floral theme, I decided to allow my girly side to meet my darker side. By simply darkening the floral aesthetic with leathers, blacks, and grays, the space immediately took on a more mature look. The girly aesthetic paired with golds, blacks, leather and furs allow for a floral takeover without seeming too girly or juvenile.
