Memorial Day has come and gone which means it’s officially summer and my urge for wanderlusting is extremely high. Every time I open my Instagram, I’m envious of the people I see exploring our beautiful mama earth!
Whether it be the possibility of touching the clouds at the top of Machu Picchu, surfing the orange sand in Dubai, or swimming through the crystal blue waters of Bora Bora—I’m tempted to throw a few necessities into a backpack and GTFO my front door.
This urge has inspired our next filter, “Summer Smoke”. Forget bohemian chic, this is bohemian chill. Summer Smoke is for a home that has a copy of ‘Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance’ on the bedside table. A place where you can put your feet up (on a coffee table!) because climbing Kilimanjaro isn’t easy.
The minimal aesthetic and earthy color palette make this the perfect abode for the modern day traveler— that friendly face we see at almost every music festival. The rooms are pulled together with warm colors that nourish our adventurous souls and allow us to ease into a sense of calm. In this space, we are grounded, tranquil and uncomplicated. Among our geometrically designed tapestries, we take it easy, baby.
My goal for “Summer Smoke” was to allow the simplicity of the furniture to enhance their surroundings and to breathe life into the accessories that have been collected from all over the world. Whether it be a Tibetan meditation bowl (for when you need more chill), a traditional Kenyan Mask, or an authentic Molcajete bowl to make the best secret guacamole on the planet—I wanted the accessories to shine.
A good life is a life well-traveled. And a good home is a place to tell those stories.
